Huntsville City Schools

Parents should always have a role in their children’s education – make your voice heard!
Huntsville City Schools will hold an election for one School Board seat on September 20, 2022. District 3 residents will choose between two candidates: Angela McClure and Andrea Alvarez.

District 3 CANDIDATES

McClure is a registered Republican and has voted in Republican primaries.

McClure pledges to fight “liberal agendas” and “indoctrination” in education.

McClure does not support Critical Race Theory being taught in school.

McClure has said teachers should not be discussing with students “who they are married to, what political party they like, and what gender they are.”

Among her priorities, McClure has noted the need to improve student academic performance, as well as identify new revenue streams for the school budget, expand afterschool tutoring programs, increase support for school resource officers, and provide additional support for mental health professionals in schools.
